Proprietary authentication
What is proprietary authentication? Proprietary authentication is a way for Edutizer to accept user credetials from other systems (see Integrated authentication for authentication using Windows domains). The idea behind proprietary authentication is simple - thrid party application prepares and signs user credentials package. Edutizer checks the signature, and if valid, logs user in. If user described in the credentials package does not exists, corresponding user account is automatically created. On details of the authentication package, please contact Mindworks. Proprietary authentication can be configured one virtual server only. To configure proprietary authentication 1. Place the needed certificate file somewhere in the Edutizer server file system. Certificate must be in Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER) format NOTE: do not place the certificate in the website folders. 2. Select Proprietary authentication tab from the Installation settings. 3. Select the server you wish to use the proprietary authentication for. 4. Enter the path of the certificate, including the certificate name. 4. Click on Save this.
