Configuring LDAP import
To set up LDAP import, go to the server settings User import tab and choose LDAP as import scheme for students or teachers import. Connection properties To import user accounts from Active Directory or any other LDAP directory you will need to provide user account name and password that will be used to access the directory. We recomend you use a read-only user account becouse Edutizer stores the account password in clear text. Accepted account name formats are domain style DOMAIN\user and LDAP style OU=Managers;U=LDAPReader. Directory address has to follow this syntax: LDAP://server.name/<Root path>, where <Root path> can be something like ou=Office,dc=edutizer,dc=com Unique user identifier and LDAP attribute corresponding to the unque user identifer are correspondigly Edutizer and LDAP directory attributes that are used as the integration attribute. We do not recommend changing the integration attribute once configured and working properly unless it is really necessary. Student and teacher filter follow standart LDAP filter syntax. NOTE: If Edutizer encounteres group object (objectClass=group) in the LDAP response, it will make additional request to extract group members. Groups can contain groups. Field mapping In order to import data correclty Edutizer has to know which LDAP attributes contain the needed information. You have to specify attributes for first name, last name, login and department. Other mappings can be left empty, if you do not have that informaiton in directory or do not wish to import it.
